Japanese label founded in Tokyo in 2004 by Junichi Abe. kolor builds garments from spliced panels, contrasting fabrics and off-kilter colour blocking, hybridising tailoring, sportswear and military references into layered outerwear, deconstructed blazers, pleated trousers and textured knitwear. Abe announced his retirement as head designer at the fall 2025 show in Paris, staying on as an adviser, and named Taro Horiuchi his successor. Horiuchi, an Antwerp graduate Abe first met in 2007, debuted with the brightly coloured spring 2026 collection. The label continues to show on the Paris calendar.
